The Baja Area of Mexico is a gorgeous destination with ocean views, great food, and welcoming people. But on the flipside of this tourist destination there is also poverty, struggling families, alcoholism and abuse. Many women flee with their children from the men who hurt them. Individuals are living on about $2/day which is the threshold of poverty. With limited resources and no signs of hope, few have stepped in to help.
On this trip I will be joining a local team to build a home for a single mom and her two kids. Before acquiring this home, the family was living in a make shift tent. Mom spends most of the daylight working while her daughter and son are left to fend for themselves.
This will be my first trip back in Mexico after nearly 5 years. On this trip I will be helping build a home during the day and leading a kid’s camp in the afternoon. I am excited to use my skills to serve others and am hoping you will support me in this adventure. I have a financial responsibility of raising $800 and could use your help. Any amount you give today will improve the lives of children in Baja Mexico.
